Summer Reading Program windup

THE SUSPENSE OF SUSPENSION: One of the activities planned for the Oxbow Library Summer Reading Program windup held Aug. 21 was to concoct a cornstarch suspension. The recipe is a simple one, as only cornstarch and water is needed. The beauty of the mixture is when the cornstarch suspension is squeezed, it feels like a solid. But when no one is pressing on it, it looks and acts like a liquid. Presley Dietze and the other participants in the reading program had fun playing with the substance.
