Jordan Walker presented her donation of $5,000 to Christa Widenmaier, treasurer of the New Oxbow Ball Diamonds Committee. Jordan won the $5,000 in the Much Music Pepsi Refresh contest, in which she competed against other youth in online voting. The contest encouraged young people to write in about the good they would do in their community if they won the money. Jordan wrote about the flooded ball diamonds and received lots of positive support through the online voting process. The young woman donated the money to be used towards rebuilding the ball park in the valley near Oxbow that was destroyed by the flooding.
