Estevan -

Two artists from the area presently have their work displayed at the Estevan Art Gallery.

Liz Willick, Oxbow and Les Tuchscherer, Frobisher, along with 10 other artists from the south Saskatchewan area each entered five pieces of art in the Estevan Arts Councils adjudicated art show.

The adjudicator viewed all the works, made written critiques for each of the participants, and then invited four of the artists - one of whom was Les - to submit proposals, comprised of an artist statement and pictures of their artwork, to the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils. OSAC, in turn, will develop art tours from selected submissions.

While Les enjoys painting pictures, particularly of animals, Liz is a photographer. She chose pictures from her Rural Roots/Rural Ruins collection for the show.

The works of all the artists will remain on display at the gallery until the end of October. People who visit the gallery are asked to write down the name of their favourite artwork for the Peoples Choice award.
